Paul Eldridge, a fully qualified NHS Paramedic, has recently joined the clinic to offer a health check service, suitable for all, young and old. Paul has years of experience in frontline accident and emergency services and has dealt with a vast array of health matters.

Everyone is at risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and kidney disease. Together these diseases are the biggest cause of preventable deaths within the UK as they affect more than four million people. A basic health check aims to help you lower your risk of developing these common but often preventable diseases, by identifying risk factors early and enabling you to make the necessary changes to reduce your personal risk. Small long lasting changes to your lifestyle can make a huge difference to your health now and as you grow older.

Screening tests are used to try to detect a disease when there is little or no evidence that a person has a suspected disease. For example, measuring cholesterol levels helps to identify one of the risks of heart disease. These screening tests are performed on people who may show no symptoms of heart disease, as a tool to detect a potentially harmful and evolving condition.

It is amazing how many cases of disease exist and remain undiagnosed that seriously affect our quality of life.

Paul qualified as a Paramedic in 2000 and has worked within the NHS since 1997 in the frontline accident and emergency service. He brings to the clinic many years of experience dealing with a vast range of health matters. Paul is a state registered paramedic and is also HCPC registered. Paul will be offering health checks at the clinic and believes this is an important part of everybody’s health, as early detection of any abnormalities can be addressed and improve long term health.
